Beaver Scouts are 6 and 7-year old Boys & Girls who like having fun and making friends. They are the youngest members of the Scout Association and meet once a week in colonies. Trained adult Beaver Scout Leaders, who can be parents of Beaver Scouts, run the colony. Beaver Scout activities are a combination of learning and having fun, whether it is simple crafts such as making models from scrap materials or visits to places of interest to their age group. Beaver Scouting is also about caring and sharing and helping the community. This can be carried out in many ways including planting flower bulbs in parks and collecting pennies for people in need. After a few weeks of attending Colony meetings a new Beaver Scout will make their first promise, there by becoming a member of the Beaver Scout section which has about 130,000 members.
